Ideas, Stories, and Profiles

Living in Kigali has never been this expensive, we are in a city where you work for a whole day only to spend the respective income in a matter of hours, if properly spent.

Here are a few quick tips on how you, as a Kigalian, can live fairly:

  1. Avoid motobikes. You would be amazed by how much you can save by using buses instead of motorbikes.
  2. If you could manage to live near your workplace, you definitely have to. It would save you a lot of money.
  3. Eat home-cooked food. Restaurants cost you so much money for less healthy food. You can always skip lunch; food science says breakfast is all that matters, anyways.
  4. Get weekend activities that don’t involve spending. We spend more in weekends because we don’t want to stay in our beds while others are out there having fun. There are tons of activities you can do, have fun and not spend a dime. To sum it all, party less and plan for outings if you’re the kind that enjoys it.

Postscript: We all have made our observations as far as spending is concerned, tips are not limited only to those mentioned.
