MTN Rwanda Partners With Petroleum Company For Mobile Money
MTN Rwanda has unveiled a new partnership with Societe Petroliere Limited (SP Limited) that allow customers to pay for fuel using its Mobile Money service. It is available across the country, at any of the 25 petrol stations owned by SP.
According to a statement, this new technological innovation aims to improve MTN’s customer experience, offering the ease and convenience of paying for fuel directly through their mobile devices.
“Not only will this service bring convenience in the purchasing process for the customers, but there will be no extra cost incurred by customers such as transaction fees,” the statement says.
The two companies will also be offering a promotion – 10Rwf discount on every litre – between 16 July and 15 August 2015.
The use of Mobile Money payments is on the rise; telecommunications companies have added multiple pay services, including in areas of electricity and water, school fees, TV, access funds from bank accounts, buying or sending airtime, and more.
MTN says its Mobile Money services is “reliable, convenient and safe”.
