Rwanda’s central bank, the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR), has published specimen images of new 1,000 banknote. The difference? Nothing much; but, well, French was taken off.

This comes after the publication of a presidential order in the official gazette dating of 16 October 2015.

The version of the note currently in circulation, and being replaced, includes French/English translation on its back side, as seen on the image posted above with this story.

French was also taken off the latest versions of 5,000, 2000, and 500 notes.
