Ideas, Stories, and Profiles

A “satirical blog” wrote a hoax article that claims new British Prime Minister Theresa May has announced a new visa-free policy for three countries: Philippines, South Africa and Rwanda.

“The decision took into consideration the socio-economic, political and human rights policies instituted over the past 60 months by the various countries, especially members of Common Wealth Countries,” part of the article reads.

Of course this is not true.

“No changes to UK visa requirements for Rwandans,” the U.K. High Commission in Rwanda tweeted on Sunday, “You still need one.”

Deputy High Commissioner Jenny Wilcox had also tweeted, confirming there have been no new rules announced.
